    Zugspitze Anniversary Ridge

One of the most beautiful ridge tours in the Alps

The Jubiläumsgrat is one of the great classic ridge crossings of the Alps. In terms of scenery, it presents itself immensely impressive, with breathtaking deep views and a panorama that is unparalleled. The surrounding mountain ranges are within reach and the distant view from the Swiss Alps over the Central Alps and the wide pre-Alpine plain is unique. High above the Höllental, the exposed ridge climbing is quite demanding and the length of the tour should not be underestimated, but with the appropriate experience, surefootedness and endurance, the Jubiläumsgrat is an absolute pleasure on the rope of your mountain guide. No wonder that this tour enjoys an exceptional reputation among ambitious mountaineers.

We will gladly organize a certified mountain and ski guide for you at short notice. During the high season (June - September & January - March), however, a corresponding lead time should be calculated in order to be able to arrange the organization optimally. Even in the company of a private mountain guide, high alpine tours make special demands on the participants. We will discuss these with you in detail in advance and, if necessary, offer you a course from our range of preparatory courses.

The final program will be decided by the guide on site.

The Jubilee Ridge is a daylong undertaking. The exposed walking passages along the ridge are interrupted again and again by steep steps, which Climbing up to III degree demand. In some places, wire ropes facilitate progress (up to C). For an ascent with mountain guide:in is Surefootedness and head for heights and a very good Condition for 10 h mountaineering and climbing experience required, climbing experience in alpine terrain is advantageous.

"The Jubiläumsgrat is often wrongly described as a via ferrata. It certainly isn't. Much of the route is exposed walking and easy climbing terrain, where I walk with my guests on a short rope.
The key passages are climbing passages in the III degree and strenuous via ferrata passages. All in all, the tour takes a full day and is long, especially as the descent from the Alpspitze also requires full concentration."

1 day, 4 participants, insider tip with classic potential

The ascent from Eibsee via Wiener Neustädter Hütte is the least frequently used of the classic Zugspitze routes. It is more demanding than the route through Reintal and less spectacular than the Höllental route. "The golden mean" of the three classic Zugspitze ascents.
