Ötztal Alps Crossing
One of the most sought-after alpine tours in the Eastern Alps
The Ötztal Alps are a top-class alpine touring area. In contrast to the four-thousand-metre tours in the Western Alps, the differences in altitude are significantly lower, but the high alpine ambience is certainly comparable. The most beautiful and highest three-thousand-metre peaks of the Ötztal can be perfectly combined with each other on technically relatively easy ascents during this week of touring. We start the Ötztal summit tour with the 3,599 m high, technically easy Similaun. Ideal for getting started and getting a taste of the mountain air. Subsequently, the demands increase continuously until the last day. The absolute highlight is the ascent of Tyrol's highest peak, the 3,774 m high Wildspitze. The last few meters of the summit ascent require some easy block climbing, of course with a rope from your mountain guide! The Similaunhütte, the Hochjochhospitz and the Vernagthütte are the bases for this high-altitude tour.

Day 1: Ascent from Vent via the Martin-Busch-Hütte to the Similaun-Hütte (3,017 m).
2nd day: Ascent of the Similaun (3,599 m) via the technically easy but varied normal route. Then cross the glacier via the Hauslabjoch, the famous Ötzi discovery site, to the Hochjochhospitz (2,413 m).
Day 3: Via the exposed Deloretteweg to the Kesselwandferner and the Fluchtkogel (3,500 m), in good conditions crossing the summit to the Vernagthütte (2,755 m).
Day 4: Over scree, rock and ice to the Brochkogeljoch and first over glaciers and finally over the rocky summit ridge in easy climbing to the highest mountain in Tyrol, the Ötztaler Wildspitze (3,774 m), descent to the Breslauerhütte (2,844 m) and on to Vent.

All courses and guided tours are conscientiously organized and carried out in accordance with the safety standards of the Vivalpin Mountain and Ski School with qualified specialists (e.g. mountain and ski guides, mountain hiking guides, etc.). The provisional tour program may be adjusted for safety-related reasons, such as bad weather, dangerous conditions, unforeseen natural events or inadequate conditions of the participants. The final program will be decided by the guide on site.

Nevertheless, the normal routes are anything but boring "glacier hikers". The panorama from the individual peaks is simply phenomenal and a fair reward for the efforts.

Fit on the glacier and on high altitude tours
The goal of the high altitude course is the independent execution of easy high altitude tours with glacier climbing. You will learn and improve specific belaying techniques as well as the necessary crampon and climbing techniques.
