Sustainability and environmental protection

Central areas of our actions

Since the founding of the mountain school in 1985, sustainability has been an important part of our business foundation and anchored in our mission statement. Important projects in this context included certification as a climate-neutral mountain and ski school in 2009, the implementation of the ECOONE project to evaluate the sustainability of sports products for ispo in 2010, and in 2012 to the present day, our work as a shareholder in the "Model Community Electromobility" project in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which is funded by the German government. In addition, we regularly promote and support social projects.

Together with industrial partners, we are committed to reducing environmental pollution and are happy to refer to the efforts and projects of our partners, such as environmentally friendly production according to the highest industrial standards in Germany by edelrid, LowaVölkl SkiOrtovox or in the use of innovative, sustainable or renewable raw materials by The North Face or Woolpower.

Since a large part of the "mountain sports CO2" is produced when traveling to and from the mountains, we support alternative mobility concepts together with our mobility partner Mobilitätspartner Autohaus Hornung. These include modern hybrid or electric vehicles such as the Mercedes EQC or offers to guests traveling to Garmisch-Partenkirchen by public transport, who can rent an (electric) Smart for €19 per day.
