+ VIVALPIN PROFESSIONAL GUIDE
The Val Maira is a valley about 60km long that runs across the main Alpine ridge in southern Piedmont. Although the Val Maira was settled 4000 years ago, today it is one of the most isolated (and most affected by rural exodus) regions in Italy. The perfect ski mountains belong to the Cottian Alps, and the peaks reach heights of over 3,000 meters. Val Maira is a good example of soft tourism - there are no big hotels anywhere, the infrastructure is limited to access roads and nature is reserved for hikers and mountaineers in summer and ski tourers in winter.
For David Göttler, VIVALPIN mountain guide for 17 years, the Val Maira is a very special gem, here he returns again and again to enjoy nature and a vastness and solitude unique in Europe. From him also comes the tip: "Val Maira absolutely belongs in our offer, because it is one of the most beautiful ski touring areas that I know!"
The Val Maira offers an inexhaustible range of ski tours, from the easy half-day tour, to demanding traverses. You will search in vain for well-known summit names, but you will be richly rewarded with perfect skiing terrain in one of the loneliest alpine high valleys.
This exclusive ski touring trip is rounded off by a unique base, as you will probably not find a second one so quickly.
