Multi-pitch course from level 2

The Multi-pitch climbing course is your ticket to the world of alpine tours. Under the guidance of professional alpinist Simon Gietl you will not only learn the basics but also many tips and tricks from the pros for your planned multi-pitch adventures outside the Dolomites.
In this course, we teach you the essential skills for alpine climbing. The focus is on practice and safety:

  • Functional stand construction: For plaisir and adventure routes, “soft eye” and “South Tyrolean stand”
  • Safety technology 2.0: Effective use of rope clamps and energy absorbers for securing vehicles
  • Mobile safety devices: The correct use of camelots, friends, totems, wedges and slings
  • Withdrawal methods: Abseiling on a double rope and, in an emergency, on a single rope
  • Rope handling: Efficient rope management for alternating guidance and a constant guide
  • Climbing technique and tactics: Optimizing movement sequences and risk management

Who is the course suitable for?
The Multi-pitch climbing course is aimed at motivated climbers who want to take the step from the gym to the real rock or perfect their technique. The course is ideal for:

  • Advanced alpine climbers, who want to improve their climbing level.
  • Indoor climbers & boulderers, who are looking for a transfer to the natural rock.
  • Pleasure climber, who want to master plaisir tours in difficulty levels V to VI with low risk and plenty of safety reserves.

* The mentioned difficulty levels are in no way comparable with those in the hall. This is because climbing on natural rock requires more circumspection and different tactics than in the climbing hall. An alpine IVer can be more demanding than a VIer in the hall, especially in lead climbing.
For all climbing courses, you will receive modern rental equipment from EDELRID.

Why professional training in the Dolomites?
Alpine climbing places significantly higher demands on technique and psyche than indoor sport climbing. The routes are often confusing and the protection requires experience. In small groups and a relaxed atmosphere state-certified mountain guides or mountain guides the essence of modern rope technology.

Your advantages at a glance:

  • Professional coaching: Learn from Simon Gietl
  • Top equipment: Free rental equipment from EDELRID included.
  • Small groups: Maximum learning success and individual support.
  • Location: First-class rock and alpine scenery in the home of Simon Gietl: on the first day technical training and education in the Ahrntal, on the second day multi-pitch tours in the Dolomites depending on the weather and conditions
