The Multi-pitch course is the entry ticket to the world of alpine climbing tours. Functional belaying, the use of mobile belay devices and various retreat methods are the central training content. The Frauenwasserl course area in Oberammergau offers ideal conditions.

It is equally suitable for (alpine) climbing beginners, advanced climbers, indoor climbers, boulderers and anyone who wants to optimize their climbing and belaying technique.
You learn and train in a relaxed atmosphere, on the best rock and in small groups. From the ground up, your mountain guide will teach you the essence of rope and safety techniques and, of course, the latest climbing techniques.
Multi-pitch or alpine climbing places much higher overall demands on you than indoor climbing, bouldering or pure sport climbing. In addition to the much more complex belaying technique, you also have to use and practise completely different tactics. Climbing is often confusing and retreating is usually difficult.
But none of this is rocket science, you can learn and practice it, ideally in a multi-pitch course with an expert who will explain the complicated techniques to you in an easy-to-understand way.

Our courses have a modular structure and prepare you specifically for alpine challenges:

* The mentioned difficulty levels are in no way comparable with those in the hall. This is because climbing on natural rock requires more circumspection and different tactics than in the climbing hall. An alpine IVer can be more demanding than a VIer in the hall, especially in lead climbing.
For all climbing courses, you will receive modern rental equipment from EDELRID.

Program and schedule

Our guides are also always happy to receive a small tip if you enjoyed the tour/course.
Course content: Equipment know how for the appropriate belay technique, rappelling, self and companion belaying, improvement of personal climbing technique, top rope and lead climbing training, belay station construction, first aid, retreat technique, alpine hazards.
Note on program changes:
All courses and guided tours are conscientiously organized and carried out in accordance with the safety standards of the Vivalpin Mountain and Ski School with qualified specialists (e.g. mountain and ski guides, mountain hiking guides, etc.). The provisional tour program may be adjusted for safety-related reasons, such as bad weather, dangerous conditions, unforeseen natural events or inadequate conditions of the participants. The final program will be decided by the guide on site.
For the multi-pitch course you should already have Climbing experience (in natural rock min. difficulty level IV or in the hall min. difficulty level VI).

Ziel der Alpinkletterkurse für Beginner ist das selbständige Klettern im Naturfels in den Schwierigkeitsgraden III-V. Du lernst dabei die spezifische Sicherungstechnik genauso wie die notwendige Klettertechnik und -taktik. Die Kursgebiete sind dafür ideal, ebenso die optimal qualifizierten Guides und die kleinen Gruppen.

In den beliebten Klettersteigkursen bereitet dich dein:e Bergführer:in auf das selbständige Begehen von Klettersteigen der Schwierigkeit A-B/C (Level 1) und B/C-D (Level 2) vor. Du lernst dabei die spezifische Sicherungstechnik genauso wie die notwendige Klettertechnik und gewöhnst dich an die Ausgesetztheit auf den viae ferratae.
