Ice climbing camp with Simon Gietl
Improve your skills with one of today's best alpinists
The climbing pro invites you to the Ahrntal. The place where he learned and trained in ice and mixed climbing.
Simon knows the most difficult ice routes of the Dolomites and the Alps, he has a huge wealth of experience in steep ice, but he is also a gifted mountain guide and coach (see also Climbing with the rock star or Icy times on our blog).
The Vivalpin Iceclimbing Camp also offers you the opportunity to test and try out the latest generation of EDELRID ice equipment (the one that Simon helped to develop).
The location chosen by Simon with fantastic ice and mixed routes is one of the best in the world. Ice climbing areasthat we know. Or is it even the best?
The approach to the tours in the Angerer ice climbing garden near Rein in Taufers in Ahrntal is extremely short and is perfect for warming up.
The routes themselves offer difficulties from WI2 to WI 5 and from Mixed 5 to Mixed 7.
You can practise your first steps on steep ice in the top rope or climb your first mixed tour (secured with bolts) in lead climbing. Everything is possible in between! Here you can top rope or lead climb on inclined, vertical or even overhanging ice. And if that's not enough for you, Simon will show you what's possible in mixed climbing.
You can be sure that you will significantly improve your personal skills and know-how at the bemi ice climbing camp with Simon Gietl. We wish you lots of fun!

Note on program changes:
All courses and guided tours are conscientiously organized and carried out in accordance with the safety standards of the Vivalpin Mountain and Ski School with qualified specialists (e.g. mountain and ski guides, mountain hiking guides, etc.). The provisional tour program may be adjusted for safety-related reasons, such as bad weather, dangerous conditions, unforeseen natural events or inadequate conditions of the participants. The final program will be decided by the guide on site.
The ice climbing camp is suitable for you if you already have experience in either ice climbing or sport climbing. In any case, you should be proficient in belaying techniques. Simon will be supported at the camp by two Vivalpin mountain guides, as well as mountain school leader Christof. Of course, the camp also includes a cozy get-together with Simon and the guides in the evening. The camp is supported by Edelrid and Ahrntal Tourismus
