Laura Dahlmeier: Iron Age and Jubiläumsgrat as a day tour
An unforgettable experience for fit mountaineers with the double Olympic champion
Laura Dahlmeier is not only a multiple world champion and double Olympic champion, she is also your perfect companion for the Kingline on the Zugspitze. Combining the two highlight tours Iron Age and Jubiläumsgrat in one day is a real challenge, even for fit mountaineers.
The "Iron Age" on the Zugspitze is already considered a classic. With a wall height of 1,200 m and a total of 2,000 m, it is also one of the longest climbing routes in Germany. Although the difficulties do not exceed grade IV, the overall demands and the overall experience are very high. You can find lots more information and suggestions at https://vivalpin.blog/harakiri-in-der-eisenzeit.
The state-certified mountain and ski guide Laura Dahlmeier knows this route very well in her home mountains and will guide you swiftly through this impressive wall, secured by a rope. After the summit rest - when the tour is over for the "normal" mountaineers - another and also one of the best routes on the Zugspitze follows, the Jubiläumsgrat. According to its "paper form", this is much easier and less demanding in terms of fitness than the Iron Age, but after 6 hours of climbing in the morning, the long and always exposed ridge still has strenuous climbing sections and many ridge passages where full concentration and attention are required.
At the end of an exhausting, long day, you will be able to look back with pride on your extraordinary Zugspitze crossing with a total of 3,000 meters of altitude together with Laura Dahlmeier.
